The hotel has a very interesting and varied history; it is believed the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Frank Baum based the Emerald City on it; and you may recognise the striking Victorian era architecture from the film Some Like it Hot. Resort rooms are larger and are located in the Victorian Building, Ocean Towers or the California Cabana buildings.
