Sea Path Apartments, Assos - Kefalonia
The Sea Path Apartments enjoy one of the most spectacular locations on Kefalonia. At its narrowest point, the Assos isthmus is just wide enough for a building and a narrow lane. On one side a coastline of cliffs, caves and waves breaking in white foam on hidden reefs. On the other side, pine woods and a hillside covered in flowers in spring and autumn, and provides the perfect backdrop to the red rooftops of the tiny harbour.
The building itself, although modern, complements the older architecture. There is one studio with a shaded terrace, looking out over the sea from its upper floor position, ensuring privacy and a three bedroom apartment with no less than five balconies facing in three directions and a fantastic top floor bedroom with a sun terrace. The three, two bedroom ground floor apartments each have a large sunny terrace which enjoy the same wonderful sea views.
The interiors are comfortable with a good standard of fittings and furniture. Kostas and Akrivi scoured the antique markets of Athens for suitable ornaments. Akrivi is a talented artist and at least one of her works hangs in each apartment. They are also a very musical family, their son Miltiadies is a classical jazz musician of international reputation.
Perhaps one of the main reasons that guests return here time after time is the family’s genuine and spontaneous hospitality, which makes new and repeat guests feel immediately at home.
One could easily spend a whole fortnight on one of the balconies, just taking in the ever-changing view, as many of our returning guests to the Sea Path can testify.
