INDEPENDENT RAIL TOUR FROM TORONTO TO HALIFAX (OR VICE VERSA) DAY 1 Toronto Arrive in Toronto and make your own way to your hotel for a three-night stay. DAY 2 Toronto Canada’s largest city takes time to explore but today’s guided city tour will give you a good insight into its attractions. Highlights will include the Eaton Centre, Chinatown, the waterfront area, the Old and New City Hall together with the CN Tower – where admission is included. DAY 3 Niagara Falls Sightseeing Today you’ll travel through the orchard and vine-growing area of the Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Your excursion includes Hornblower Niagara Falls cruise or ‘Journey Behind the Falls’, lunch overlooking the Falls and free time in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Lunch is included. DAY 4 Montréal By rail, journey to the vibrant city of Montréal. Along the way enjoy views of Lake Ontario, the farmland of rural Québec and the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Then check into your hotel for a two-night stay. DAY 5 Québec City Tour Today a full-day tour takes you to explore historic Québec City. It is the only walled city in North America, and the entire Old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today, knowledgeable guides will help you discover the enchanting sights which are an integral part of the city. DAY 6 VIA Rail’s The Ocean This morning enjoy a comprehensive three-hour city tour of Montréal taking in over twenty points of interest including the Notre-Dame Basilica, St. Joseph’s Oratory, Old Montréal, the French Quarter and a panoramic view of the city from Mont Royal. This afternoon transfer to the station to board VIA Rail’s The Ocean for your overnight journey to Halifax. Your accommodation will be in a private bedroom. Dinner is included. DAY 7 Halifax Today enjoy the landscapes of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before arriving in Halifax this afternoon. Check into your hotel for a three- night stay. Breakfast and lunch are included. DAY 8 Halifax Sightseeing Founded in 1749 as a British garrison town Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is located on one of the world’s largest natural harbours. Today, admission to Halifax Museum of Natural History is included. DAY 9 Peggy’s Cove Tour This morning is free to explore Halifax before visiting Peggy’s Cove which has been a paradise for artists and explorers for over 150 years. This picture-postcard village, on the rugged Atlantic shoreline, stands on solid rock above the crashing surf and its lighthouse is the most photographed one in the world. Please Note: Depending on departure date, Days 8 and 9 may be switched around to work with the day tour schedule. DAY 10 End of Tour Arrangements end upon check-out from your hotel.
